When the scouts went public about being private and no longer tolerant of anyone not appearing to be within their scope of conformity and hard pressed to define that; it left a lot of young boys standing on the outside looking in. A boy, even one transgendered, still needs some of the things that scouting use to stand for and Ms. Carter was determined to see that even those boys had a place in the world of scouting. It was her idea to found and form the Transgendered Scouts of America. The only difference between the old version and this newest was the oath she said. Boys took the new oath like boys had in the past but in her version you had to actually mean it.
